The search below the title bar allows a search of research projects and institutions at FISA online. In addition it is possible to search in any category. Using the Advanced Search you can adjust further criteria for projects or institutions, for example location, duration or subject area.
Another option is the "Search on the pages of the research institutions". Here you can search for a term in a subject area on websites recorded in FISA. As a result you get three entries for each website.
Search in external websites (right column)
FISA provides you access to 1.500 research institutions:
While you are browsing FISA, the system offers links to websites of institutions that are involved in governmental or federal
research. Institutions with research projects related to the actual visited page are listed in the right-hand column below
the external search and can be reached by just one click. What is more: the external search allows the visitor to search all
the listed websites for related information As a result you get three entries for each website presented in the right-hand column.

Definition of subject areas
"Special animal species" includes sheep, goat, poultry, horse, rabbit, fish, fallow deer and further species that are not covered by the other subject areas. Research projects about bee keeping are listed separately.
"Specialised crops" includes: Hop, tobacco farming, spice farming, medicinal plants and further species that are not covered by the other subject areas. Arboriculture, horticulture (including ornamental plants), vegetable gardening and viticulture are listed separately. They are not part of the area specialised crop.
Research Institutions
The structure of more complex institutions such as universities or Federal Research Institutes is displayed in a simplified way. A subinstitution or subordinated institution (like a chair, institute, department, faculty) is only associated with its parent institution. Thus, reorganisations or change of names can be displayed more easily. If you would like to update information about an institution we would be delighted to receive your email at info@fisaonline.de.
