German Cancer Research Center (DKFZ)
Our goal is to systematically investigate the mechanisms of cancer development and to identify cancer risk factors. The results of this basic research are expected to be developed into new approaches in the prevention, diagnosis, and treatment of cancer. The German Cancer Research Center is a foundation under public law and a member of the Helmholtz Association of National Research Centers (Helmholtz-Gemeinschaft Deutscher Forschungszentren). As a national research center it is financed by the Federal German Government and the State of Baden-Wuerttemberg. In addition, the Center is part of the cooperative association of the Tumor Center Heidelberg/Mannheim.
