Electron microscopical investigations into the appearance and the morphology of cytoplasmic inclusion bodies in cells of cabbage plants after infection with the TuMV

Description:

In cells of cabbage plants infected with TuMV, inclusion bodies are often formed. These inclusion bodies play an important role in the transport of viruses within the plants. In resistant plants, TuMV is often restricted to inoculated leaves, a systematical virus spread does not take place (resistance type R). From this the question arises concerning a possible connection between formation of inclusion bodies and an inhibition of the systematical virus spread.
