Investigations for maintenance of genetic resources of grapevines
Description:
Compilation of viticultural institutions (worldwide) with grapevine collections. Furthermore, addresses, geographic sites, climatic data, composition of the grapevine collections, conservation methods, etc. are specified. More than 16000 cvs. are registered in the database for grapevine at our Institute and are provided with the IPGRI-passport data, being continuously updated. Our collection comprises approx. 2500 genotypes. In parallel, important cultivars or strains are in vitro cultivated. A further extension takes into account above all genotypes with important breeding traits.
