SFB/TRR 32 Project A3 Phase 1: A3 Characterization of effective hydraulic properties of unsaturated soils at the cm to m scale using electrical spectroscopic and tomographic non-invasive methods
Description:
Flow and transport properties of soils are decisively dependent on the structural and textural composition of the soil. This sub-project aims at the characterization of uni- and multi-modal soil hydraulic properties at the cm to m scale using electrical spectroscopic and tomographic non-invasive methods, with a view to an improved calibration of unsaturated flow models. The methodology will be developed and validated in controlled flow and transport experiments on calibrated and natural soil samples at the cm to dm scale, and on undisturbed soil monoliths (lysimeters) at the m scale.
