Coordination of the joint project 'Development of integrated pest management methods to control soil pests'
Description:
To control soil pests in many cases are no approved or authorized plant protection products available. Chemical control methods generally recognized, moreover, usually only the beetles and not the main damage-causing larvae. Therefore, the research on non-chemical plant protection measures, particularly the search for biological plant protection measures as an element of integrated pest management are promoted. On the basis of several individual projects should in addition to the development of integrated plant protection methods against wireworms and cutworms, the quality and yield losses in potatoes and vegetable crops, cause the focus on the development of integrated plant protection methods against weevils and their larvae in the hop, as well as fruit, vegetables and ornamental plants, where they cause considerable damage, are placed.
