Joint Project: Intelligent Radio-based irrigation (IFuB) – Subproject 5
Description:
The aim of the project is the design and development of an intelligent and flexible irrigation control system, using automatic decentralised data processing for optimising the efficiency of the irrigation. Furthermore the components and systems will possess a high flexibility and adaptability to satisfy the variety of agricultural and horticultural utilizations. The system approach consists of intelligent radio node systems which can autonomously analyse and interpret data for starting necessary irrigation actions. The project is subdivided in work packages: 1. Conceptional draft of the intelligent irrigation system of a communication model 2. Development of hardware and software for the radio node system 3. Adaption of irrigation control system models 4. Robust mechanical design for deployment under agricultural field conditions 5. Development of the database and software tools for WEB 2.0 6. On-site tests
