Estimation of ileal nutrient digestibility in native energy and protein feeding stuffs for organic chicken meat production
Description:
In organic chicken meat production covering of essential amino acids requirements is difficult due to the prohibition of the use of synthetic amino acids and due to the prescription of using 100 % organic diets from January 1, 2012 on. A broad knowledge on nutrient contents and amino acids digestibility of native feeding stuffs may help to overcome this problem. Therefore, the project aims to estimate amino acids, energy and phosphorus ileal (prececal, pc) digestibility of wheat, barley, rye, triticale, naked oats, naked barley, buckwheat, sorghum (brown, panicle), spelt, lentils, thermal treated mixture of legumes, dried alfalfa leaflets, clover silage, Corn Cob Mix (CCM) and whole corn silage. From tested feeding stuffs mixture of legumes, dried alfalfa leaflets and clover silage are also investigated in other projects in pigs. In total, 7560 broilers with slow growth rate will be fed with the experimental diets between days 14 and 21 and between days 35 and 42 of life. The 16 feeding stuffs will be included in the diets in three increasing proportions and will be analyzed in 8 consecutive experiments. On days 21 and 42 of life chymus of the ileum will be collected and contents of amino acids, energy and phosphorus will be determined in relation to the content of titanium oxide. Digestibility will be calculated by regression method.
