GLOWA Elbe III - Subproject 8: Development of a tool for simulation of management options for improving water quality in the Elbe river system
Description:
Reaching the mid-term of the third phase GLOWA Elbe, the next volume ( Adaptation of surface water management in the Elbe river basin to global change) of the book GLOWA Elbe I with results from Phase II is available. At the heart of the book is a detailed description of the Model alliance GLOWA Elbe, the scenario analysis from phase II and the discussion of the results. Available results from the Phase III will be considered. The GLOWA Elbe Atlas will be provided in electronic form and maps. The electronic form of the Elbe Atlas differs from the printed version in particularly through the provision of additional references to the underlying databases, models and model descriptions (see also item 1.4 products and projects I). For the cartographic work the publisher of the Nationalatlasses Germany, the Leibniz Institute for Regional Geography, could be won. Monographies of the projects II, III, IV and V on the use cases and the economic analysis of water use in major river basins will be released. In addition the scientists involved in the collaborative project will publish on their own responsibility in scientific journals and books.
