Sensitive determination of mycotoxins with modulated fluorescence polarisation
Description:
Fungal infections can lead to levels of mycotoxins in cereals and cereal products that are of concern with respect to consumer health. At present, the quantitative detection of mykotoxins is performed using elaborate methods, comprising liquid chromatography or mass spectrometry. Aim of this project is the development of an easy detection system that can be used to for a fast and specific detection of mycotoxins in cereals and cereal products. The ability to quantify the levels of mykotoxins and the applicability of the technique as a fast method for practical purposes (e. g. trading and milling processes) will be tested.
