Development of a single cell model of adult cardiomyocytes as a replacement method of animal experiments? Optical measurements of excitation-contraction coupling under the influence of test substances
Description:
The aim of the project is to find a parameter as an indicator for the influence of test substances on cardiac function by calcium measurements in isolated cultured cardiomyocytes. Compared to other techniques, this should provide a meaningful method according to the guidelines for drug safety. At the same time this method has the potential to replace and reduce animal experiments.
