Collaborative project: Web-based interactive crop farming at the example of robotic weed control in vegetables (RemoteFarming.1) – Subproject 1
Description:
RemoteFarming.1 integrates innovative agricultural engineering (field robotics, sensors, actuators) and web-based communication technologies. The goal of the project is a remote controlled mechanical weed control in carrots. The research and development includes an autonomous field robot, equipped with a mechanical weed control system, thereby transferring image-based information to a remote workplace. A human worker identifies the weed by human ''image processing'' and the data will be transferred to the field for action (RemoteFarming.1a). Based on these data image processing algorithms are developed for automatic weed control options (RemoteFarming.1b).
