      Investigation on micro-evolutionary strategies oMethicillin-resistente Staphylococcus (S.) aureus (MRSA) stellen eine Herausforderung für die Humangesundheit dar, auch durch die hohe Prävalenz bestimmter MRSA des klonalen Komplexes CC398 in der gesamten Lebensmittelkette. Vor allem sind MRSA sehr anpassungsfähig und können neue Resistenz- und Virulenzeigenschaften aufnehmen. Kritisch ist die Adaption des Erregers durch den (unsachgemäßen) Einsatz von Desinfektionsmitteln zu sehen, mit der Folge der Induktion von Resistenzen, oftmals verbunden mit der Ko-Induktion von Resistenzen gegen Antibiotika. Detaillierte Untersuchungen zu diesem Phänomen mit den entlang der Lebensmittelkette vorkommenden MRSA fehlen jedoch bisher. Unbekannt ist auch, inwieweit die Anpassungsfähigkeit der MRSA auch zu einer genetischen Evolution des Erregers führt. Bei in-vivo Experimenten konnte gezeigt werden, dass es zu einem Wechsel des sogeannten spa-Typs kommen kann. Dies hat auch Konsequenzen für die Betrachtung epidemiologischer Zusammenhänge. Die Häufigkeit des Auftretens dieses Phänomens und mögliche Einflussfaktoren für diese Mutationen sollen im Rahmen des geplanten Vorhabens untersucht werden. Bisher fehlen auch Untersuchungen zur Adaptionsfähigkeit der MRSA unter selektivem Druck durch Antibiotika. So besteht die Möglichkeit, dass bei einer Ko-Kultivierung von Methicillin-resistenen und Methicillin-sensiblen S. aureus eine Weitergabe der Resistenzdeterminante SCCmec erfolgt.
