The announcement specifically supports knowledge transfer and information measures, including model and demonstration projects, in the field of alternative production and processing methods for alternative protein. While model projects test approaches that have already been researched, the aim of demonstration projects is to transfer proven solutions into widespread agricultural practice. Training, coaching and field days are also eligible for funding in order to provide farmers with the necessary knowledge and practical skills. The objective and aim of the funding is to disseminate knowledge regarding the production, storage and processing of non-leguminous protein plants as well as algae and fungi for developing innovative sustainable foods and their components for protein supply in human nutrition.
