The BMELV innovation programme for research and development was also opened to organic farming in return for the extension of the Federal Organic Farming Scheme by other forms of sustainable farming. It is intended to supplement existing support measures in contributing to sustainable growth based in the medium term on a well-balanced expansion of supply and demand.
