Project code: MRI-GE-08-2021-45
Contract period: 01.04.2021 - 31.03.2023
Purpose of research: Inventory & Assessment

Research results suggest that contamination of grain with ergot alkaloids could be caused without the presence of ergot. For this type of contamination of cereals, endophytic fungi could be responsible. Besides Calviceps purpurea, further species, e.g. Epichloe could cause ergot alkaloid contamination. The aim is to investigate the relevance of this type of infection and the resulting ergot alkaloid content.
