With a focus on energy saving and energy efficiency, the Federal Ministry of Economy and Energy (BMWi) promotes under the 6th Energy Research Program 'Research for an environmentally friendly, reliable and affordable energy supply', the development of energy saving potentials in all sectors and in private households, the research on innovative storage technologies and sustainable power supply systems, and the development of technologies to increase the efficiency of energy conversion.
