The focus of the research is on obtaining EPA (eicosapentaenoic acid), a plant-based and sustainable omega-3 fatty acid.In collaboration with the University of Applied Sciences Bremerhaven and the company Henry Lamotte Oils from Bremen, the corresponding process chain is to be developed.For this purpose, various promising microalgae species are being studied and tested in large-scale production in Rockstedt. After selecting and optimizing algae production, the oil will then be extracted. The raw product will undergo final examination, evaluation, and preparation for marketability.
