Production processes

Project code: EIP-Agri-HE-2024-BAB
Contract period: 01.01.2024 - 31.12.2026
Budget: 575,758 Euro
Purpose of research: Applied research
Keywords: soil, arable crops

The main crops are sugar beet and maize. Their growth is stimulated by repeated hoeing and weed control. The group is testing different combinations of chemical and mechanical weed control methods to reduce the use of herbicides in the long term. Mechanical methods have often not been used due to a lack of experience and insufficient effectiveness. The project is now running trials over three growing seasons, including weather data recording, monitoring and evaluation.
