The cultivation of malting barley in Bavaria has been declining for years due to climate change, because the expected yields and qualities can no longer be achieved in many regions. It is necessary to adapt to the new climatic conditions. For this reason, extensive cultivation trials are being carried out to determine which sowing time minimizes the risk for practising farmers in which soil-climate region of Bavaria. For more regional production and independence from imports. The aim of the project is to develop a guideline for farmers that contains the optimum cultivation strategy for each soil-climate region in Bavaria with regard to the sowing date.
