Purpose of research: Applied research
Fruit quality determining traits of strawberry cultivars and important old German apple cultivars collected in the gene bank of the Institute of Bruit Breeding are investigated by physical or chemical analytical and sensorial methods. Results will be documented in fruit-specific databases. The investigations serve an improved characterization of the cultivars, the valuation of progress in fruit breeding, and the utilization of genetic resources.
