Risks

Project code: JKI-AG-08-1156
Contract period: 01.05.2016 - 30.04.2019
Purpose of research: Experimental development

The productivity of arable areas is increasingly threatened by the spread of alien invasive plants. Aim of the ENVISAGE-Project is to support the effective control of these alien invasive plants. To achieve that, methods to record 9 agricultural relevant alien invasive plant species by remote sensing will be developed and tested. At the same time integrated procedures to regulate these alien invasive plant species on arable land will be developed and evaluated. Effective integrated procedures will be published as a set of recommendations for stakeholders. The potential of these alien invasive plant species to threaten agricultural production will be assessed. The information about the studied plant species and the results of the project will be presented in an interactive web portal. JKI will analyse the risk of spreading for the relevant alien species. JKI will also conduct trials on chemical and non-chemical control in pot and field experiments which will be implemented in practical guidance for management on arable areas. A strong co-operation is also intended for the scheduled web portal of the project . Furthermore, JKI is also responsible for the scientific attendance and presentation of the project.
