Field trials of apple varieties and rootstocks over several years using artificial inoculation with Erwinia amylovora; monitoring of varieties and rootstocks; use of molecular methods to study infection and resistance to the pathogen including use of molecular marked isolates, e.g. using GFP (green flourescent protein).
