Purpose of research: Inventory & Assessment
Active substances will be assessed in the EU under a Community procedure. For an active one Member State acts as the Rapporteur Member State (RMS). The RMS creates on the basis of documents submitted by the applicant the draft Assessment Report (AR). After joint consultations at which the EU plant protection authorities and the European Food Safety Authority (EFSA) are involved, the European Commission will decide whether an active is added to the list of permitted ingredients. The Institute acts as the assessment authority for the efficacy section and creates the contributions to the AR.
