Project code: MRI-EV-08-KA-721-1020DEDIPAC-KH
Contract period: 01.12.2013 - 30.11.2016
Purpose of research: Inventory & Assessment

Almost 300 researchers are listed as part of the DEDIPAC Knowledge Hub, from 68 research institutes in 13 European countries to investigate determinants of nutritional behaviour and physical activity respectively sedentary lifestyles as well as to establish assessment methods, research and implementation strategies harmonized for Europe. The Max Rubner-Institut (MRI) takes part in the European network DEDIPAC KH within the framework of the German consortium “Populations Germany”. “Populations Germany” is a consortium of German research institutes, which conduct large epidemiological studies collecting data of nutrition and activity behaviour of adults and children. The consortium contributed in the coordination of the DEDIPAC network, in the development of a tool box for harmonized assessment methods as well as in the analyses of determinants of nutritional behaviour and physical activity. “Populations Germany” actively contributed with systematically literature research and secondary data analyses as well as with its expertise to the success of the European network. The main focus of the MRI was to analyse determinants of nutritional behaviour of adults. The MRI conducted secondary data analyses with the topic “Intake of energy- and macronutrients over the course of the day”, for example. It was involved in the development of a framework of Determinants of Nutrition and Eating (DONE) as well as in the inventory of European surveillance systems and research infrastructures assessing dietary, physical activity and sedentary behaviours. The study was funded by the BMBF in the framework of DEDIPAC (JPI-HDHL).
