Development of vibrational spectroscopy methods for micro-imaging of plant metabolites and their distribution and structure in plant tissue
Project
Project code: JKI-ÖPV-08-1346
Contract period: 01.01.2017
- 31.12.2019
Purpose of research: Basic research
Keywords: valuable secondary metabolites, metabolite spacial distribution, microanalytical methods
Besides quantification of valuable secondary metabolites also their distribution across the plant tissue is important for understanding biosynthesis, growing processes and plant defense. Furthermore, this information is essential for the development of resource efficient methods for isolation of plant metabolites e.g. for phytopharmaceuticals or biological pest management. Different techniques of infrared and Raman imaging and mapping are used to investigate the distribution of plant metabolites getting more insight into structure-response relationships.
