Biobased plant protection and alternative applications - New utilization strategies for medicinal and aromatic plants
Project
Project code: JKI-ÖPV-08-1405
Contract period: 01.01.2017
- 31.12.2020
Purpose of research: Applied research
Aim of the project is the evaluation of potential impact of plant derived extracts management of plant pests. Besides fungicidal, anti-bacterial and insecticidal effects applicable for plant cultivation also aspects of stored product protection should be considered. Therefore, based on known structure-effect- relationships genetic resources of different plant species with potentially effective components should be screened for their metabolic profile and evaluated in various biotests. Thereby, screening is not restricted to medicinal and aromatic plants but should also include non indigenous and other plant species. Possible candidates should further be tested for their phytosanitary effect as preparatory or co-culture as well as the application of plant material, aqueous extracts and essential oils in field.
