At JKI the world's first mass-rearing method for predatory flies of the genus Coenosia was developed. In cooperation with companies the first long-term establishment of Coenosia in greenhouses has been achieved. It is planned to etablish the Coenosia flies for the control of Black Fungus Gnats in orchid greenhouses. Furthermore teaching material will be developed to enable the establishment of the beneficial organisms in the greenhouse.
