Purpose of research: Inventory & Assessment
The project aims to develop an understandable, visual form of risk communication based in the analysis and assessment of the visual and verbal representation of parameters in risk assessment that should be adaptable to all issues relevant to the BfR. Thus, not only the role of the BfR as an institution of risk assessment, but also its duty of responsible communication should be taken into account in the analysis. In practice, these criteria should be applied concretely to examples of visual communication. Special attention will be paid to optimizing the risk profile already established in the BfR's communication practice. However, this catalogue of criteria can not only be used for the risk profile, but also for the optimization, new development and assessment of other risk visualizations. Within the framework of the project, alternative representations of the risk profile as well as the terms used in this context are to be analyzed, evaluated and developed.
