Health risks in old age: Target group-specific risk communication for older people
Project
Project code: BfR-RIKO-08-180701b
Contract period: 01.07.2018
- 31.12.2019
Purpose of research: Inventory & Assessment
Due to the demographic change, older people are becoming an ever larger and thus also more important target group for the BfR's risk communication. Older age is not only associated with changes in health risks that consumers are susceptible to, but also with changes in how consumers may perceive risks. In addition, it can be assumed that the information behaviour and preferred information channels of older people differ from those of the general population. The aim of this project is therefore to investigate how older people can be specifically addressed in risk communication and informed about consumer health protection issues in a way that is appropriate for them.
