The objectives of this research are: 1) Depict cooperation and network structures of successfully self-managed value chain actors and communities, as well as their constraints, potentials and framework conditions. 2) Identify entry points and methodological concepts to support the extension and intensification of local value chain networks, A qualitative explorative research design is chosen, combined with a network analysis to capture social interdependencies. Findings serve as guideline for the ongoing action research process and are a continuous input for groups aiming at optimizing their value chain.
