Purpose of research: Applied research

i) Data mining and actual calculation/in depth examination of DALYs (disabilty adjusted life years) for campylobacteriosis in Germany ii) Calculation of campylobacteriosis related costs of Illness (COI) specified for Germany; Availability check of relevant data in certain databases like DIMDI and/ or certain health insurance companies. Enabling data access/mining in data bases providing more detailed personal related illness data iii) Evaluation of costs for certain interventions along the production chain (initially planned for chicken) in Germany iv) Integration of data in a cost benefit calculation according to the final report of ICF GHK and ADAS for DG SANCO of the European Commission (2012) v) Transfer of those analyses to other projects of BMEL interest to support fact based political consulting (“better regulation policy”)
