Climate change

Project code: A/19/10
Contract period: 01.07.2020 - 30.06.2023
Budget: 625,180 Euro
Purpose of research: Applied research
Keywords: pig feeding, nutrient management, nutrient cycle, soil protection, ground water protection, emissions, fertilizer ordinance, materila flow balance ordinance

At the training and experimental center of the Schwarzenau State Farm, feeding trials are carried out according to scientific specifications with high and very high reduced nitrogen and phosphorus contents in the feed. The trials are carried out with sows, piglets and fattening pigs. In addition to the zootechnical parameters, slurry quantity, slurry contents, effects on the barn climate and on emissions are considered. The analysis of feed and manure is carried out according to scientific methods. As there is still a need for research on phosphorus determination in cereals, the phosphorus content is additionally determined by the ICP method (Inductively Coupled Plasma). The effects on the stable air as well as the emissions of ammonia are determined by photoacoustic measurement. All inputs and outputs (feed, animals, slurry) are recorded, their nitrogen and phosphorus content determined and documented.
