Project code: BfR-CHS-02-1322-191
Contract period: 01.05.2004 - 31.12.2006
Purpose of research: Basic research

Bone marrow represents an important target for the toxic effects of xenobiotica, amongst others of important industrial and environmental chemicals. In this regard the expression of xenobioticametabolising P 450 enzymes in human CD 34+ bone marrow stem cells is a prerequisite for the local generation of reactive metabolites. Up to now P450 enzymes in human bone marrow , respectively in defined cell populations of human bone marrow are not yet sufficiently investigated. By means of investigating a larger number o findividual samples qualitative and quantitative information on P450 variability in CD 34+ cells will be generated with the aim to improve current limit value setting for substances with thisspecific toxic property.
