Project

Project code: 2813504208
Contract period: 01.06.2010 - 30.11.2012
Budget: 343,285 Euro
Purpose of research: Experimental development

The cooperative project intends to develop new and innovative procedures for performance recording of health and fertility traits on German Holstein, which will be collected 'On-Farm'. Thereby key traits are collected, on which basis corresponding breeding procedures will be established. Aims of the projects are the evaluation and breeding usage of parameters of: 1. fat mobilisation dynamics based on an automated body condition via photo analysis 2. female fertility based on semi-automated procedures for determination of the progester-one content in the milk 3. stability of health based on a. a semi-automated infrared-image analysis for indication of inflammation on extremities and udder as well as b. a semi-automated determination of inflammation parameters in milk Main object of the project is to develop automated as well as reproducible recording methods und its integration in performance testing. Additionally, the recording traits are also available for the herd management.
