Project code: 2810HS017
Contract period: 25.08.2010 - 28.02.2012
Budget: 147,468 Euro
Purpose of research: Basic research

In the course of investigations of the current to 31 August 2010 Research Project 2808HS012 - Studies on the prevalence of Duncker'schen muscle leech in wild animal populations showed that the currently available official parasitological methods (for trichinosis) are not suitable for reliable detection of Duncker '. between leech muscle in wild boar is against this background is now a need to clarify the following: a) Development and validation of a reliable detection method for the Duncker'schen muscle ule. Depending on c) the detection method is to check its suitability as a rapid method for the official investigation into large-scale field tests. b) to clarify the frequency of occurrence of the virus in wild animal populations, especially the wild pig population, use a reliable detection method. For this purpose the collection of information is necessary, especially in regions where the first cases have already occurred. c) evaluating the relevance of the pathogen for human health because of the prevalence data compiled. The ongoing projects in the data collected so far have regarding a human dietary exposure to risk by the Dunker's muscle ule in close game that the urgency of a health risk assessment is likely larger than previously thought. In addition to a review of the international literature, the new test method is further optimized and validated by field trials in width. In parallel, practical studies of frequency of occurrence should be carried out.
