Purpose of research: Applied research

A plethora of dietary supplements and foods for medical purposes containing phytostrogens like isoflavones have been flooded on the market with wideranging claims regarding the health of women. There is a paucity of information regarding the composition and the safety of the products especially if the products will be taken over long times. The isoflavone composition of commercial supplements containing extracts from soy or red clover shall be analysed.
