Purpose of research: Applied research

The Society for the Conservation of Old and Endangered Livestock Breeds (GEH) would like to model the breeding program for endangered breeds with different levels of organization of national culture on and expand. For the five categories First Races without current herdbook, Second Races without a nationwide herdbook, Third Breeds with pedigree nationwide tour of regional associations, but without linking the population (most of farm animal breeds), 4th Breeds with herd book management, which shall include the original population (old bloodlines) in a modern race and 5th Sustainable use of endangered species: field performance testing of innovative breeding programs are adapted models are developed and processed in order to devise solutions for different populations structured and implemented. The objectives of this project are primarily the fact of selected examples, the necessary structures to build and develop in close cooperation with existing regional organizations, the growing possibilities of a nationwide breeding management or coordination. If not farming accounts to the organization of the breeding herd records shall be completely rebuilt, in breeds with federal farming accounts in various breeding associations are meaningful measures for networking, development and implementation of breeding programs or for innovative performance test to implement. The GEH is working on species boundaries, including the integration of poultry, with the approach of national and cross-breeding combined conservation work.
