Purpose of research: Applied research

At present perfluororinated organic tensides (PFT?s) are discussed controversially in techni-cal press and in the public. Due to it specific properties they are used in multiple applica-tions. For some PFT?s accumulation in environmental compartments and in the food chain is verified. In addition, it has been proven that they are persistent in man.One possible source of exposure with PFT?s are perfluorinated compounds regulated by the BfR Recommendations for treatment of food contact paper and board. Methods used in mi-gration tests for these substances (use of olive oil as fat stimulant) result in an underestima-tion of the real transfer into foodstuffs.
