Purpose of research: Applied research

The objective of the project is to develop harmonised survey methods for the most common food-borne pathogens, such as Salmonella, Campylobacter, Listeria monocytogenes, verotoxigenic Escherichia coli and Yersinia spp., in foodstuffs in order to collect data under the Directive 2003/99/EC. These harmonised survey methods must be, when possible, applicable to all these pathogens, shall be applicable in all EU Member States and compatible with relevant Community legislation. Furthermore, the proposal shouldsuggest how to analyse the data collected at the national and at the Community levels.
