Purpose of research: Applied research
Dyes and other aid materials in the textile industry are neither notified nor certified. Also azo dyes were used for colouring textiles. The available toxicological data for these substances is incomplete. Some azo dyes are known as carcinogenic and allergenic. Especially from textiles, which were not coloured according to the state of the art substances can migrate and come into contact with the skin. Specifically coloured and characterised textile materials shall be investigated on migration of toxicologically relevant components and mutagenic potential.
