Collaborative project: Establishment of steady partnerships for sustainable supply of renewable raw materials for German enterprises, subproject 3: Quality standards and access to raw materials

Project

Project code: 22023312
Contract period: 01.10.2012 - 28.02.2013
Budget: 21,119 Euro
Purpose of research: Applied research

Establishing steady and sound raw material partnerships between countries producing renewable resources and countries having a high demand in raw material shall lead to a certain independency of price increase and will assure long lasting benefits for both sides, on one hand by possibilities for additional income and on the other hand by a certain market independency as well as stability of price. The partnerships for raw material and their contents will be acquired with an EDP-assisted decision support. This has to be set up for the use of not involved enterprises as well. The actual data are collected in pilot projects. As 'model plants' for agricultural raw material, the residues from pineapple and banana plantations as well as the European plant stinging nettle (Urtica dioica) were chosen. Working schedule for the first step 'preliminary planning' The result of the preliminary planning phase will be a target specification document defining the subsequently specified tasks for the feasibility study: - clearly identify the requirements of the raw material processor in dependence on demand magnitude, - describe the availability of the raw material according to quantity and quality, - provide conditions for sustainable access to raw materials, - prepare a systematization for the SDSS, and - establish a practice related procedure.
