Production processes

Project code: JKI-BI-08-1190
Contract period: 01.01.2013 - 31.12.2014
Purpose of research: Applied research

A new application form of licorice extract are capsules in which the extract is incorporated. From former research it is known that UV-radiation leads to loss of efficacy of the extract. Therefore, the capsules will be tested for UV-stability. Loss of efficacy of capsules will be monitored via zoospore release of Phytophthora infestans in vitro. Optimized capsules will then be tested against Pseudoperonospora cubensis in cucunmmr and P. infestans in tomato. The ability of capsules to be sprayed with common spraying equipment will be tested in a laboratory spraying tunnel (Schachtner) with different jet nozzles.
