Development of sectorspecific guidelines of integrated pest management in stored product protection

Purpose of research: Basic research
The below descibed project under the title 'Development of draft specific guidelines for integrated pest management in stored product protection sector' aims at corresponding draft guidlines with respect to the National actions plan in Germany. The project contributes to setting national law according to European law. The eight principles of integrated pest management according to directive 2009/128/EC Ann. III have to be explained in stored product protection specific guidelines. Organic farming with respect to directives 2007/834/EC and 2008/889/EC is taken into account. Under the conditions laid down in a future applicability and voluntary implementation by users, relevant groups should be included. An element of the project work is the accompaniment of different plant protection measures in practice. In the later project phase the application is to be tested after a draft of the guidelines. Some companies, which can demonstrate the diversity of stored product protection situations in practice have already been short-listed taken. Finally the results from consultation with associations and organizations, as well as the experiences of the testing in practice will be presented in a final draft guidelines at the German Ministry of Food, Agriculture and Consumer Protection. A report on 'Naturland' association, a booklet of the AID series and a publication will help to make known to the public and in particular to the professional users. A first working paper on guidelines has to be set up, in parallel measures instored product protection practice defined in previous guidelines have to be reported. Results from practice, presentation & discussion at the project included groups and at international level are incorporated into a optimized version. In the later phase of the project the finished draft guidelines and testing in practice with following publication are aimed.
