Purpose of research: Applied research
The goal of the project is a prototype that supports customers to match their personal preferences with product properties most conveniently at the point of sale. Primary goal is to prevent customers from information overload and to ease their decision making. Not the completeness of information is in the focus, but the personalized provisioning and evaluation of products along the preferences of the consumer by the means of semantic technologies under usage of common, already existing infrastructures. The project is divided into six distinct technical work packages. Their results will be merged in the last phase of the 24-month-project and evaluated in a demonstrator of the system. This technical work will be accompanied by two administrative work packages, i.e. project management and dissemination and use.
