Collaborative project: Reducing greenhouse gas emissions in rapeseed cultivation with special reference to nitrogen fertilization. Subproject 2: field trials to GHG emissions at the Dedelow site and analysis of humus effectiveness of rapeseed crop rotations

Project

Project code: ZALF-780 22403312
Contract period: 01.08.2012 - 31.07.2016
Purpose of research: Inventory & Assessment

Overall aim is to make a regionally differentiated quantification of greenhouse gas emissions in rapeseed crop rotation and a review and assessment of practice-oriented cultivation strategies to reduce cultivation related emissions and to optimize the climate protection performance of biodiesel. Further recommendations will be developed, focusing on N2O emissions, the reproduction of humus, and reduction of climate impact in rape cultivation for agricultural practice. The focus is carrying out investigations on at Dedelow/Uckermark. As part of AP 3 the effect of different varieties of rapeseed cultivation and the N fertilization on the N2O emission should be investigated. The full climate impact of rape cultivation and its impact on the supply of humus is part of AP 6 in cooperation with AG Flessa.
