This microbial identification system (MIS) is a computer - controlled automated system for the diagnosis of bacteria, yeast, mold fungi, and other microorganisms. The heart of the system is the high-resolution gas chromatographic analysis of cell wall lipids in relation with a spectra library of known strains.
