ROENOBIO - Robust energy optimization in fermentation processes in the production of biogas and wine, Subproject 3
Project
Project code: 05M13RNA
Contract period: 01.07.2013
- 30.06.2016
Budget: 241,229 Euro
Purpose of research: Applied research
Fermentation is a fundamental biochemical process and plays a prominent role in various technological processes. In this project fermentation processes of the production of biogas and wine shall be modeled and simulated in spatial and temporal detail. The combined study of biogas and the production of wine makes it possible to exploit synergies because the easier controllable wine fermentation may be considered a prototype for the more complex biogas fermentation. The models are based on a common generic basic model developed with the aim of optimizing the processes, especially in terms of thermal energy input, where as product-specific aspects such as gas yield (biogas) or flavor profile (wine) are considered.
