Production processes

Project code: JKI-EP-08-2247
Contract period: 01.02.2014 - 31.12.2019
Purpose of research: Applied research

Genes of plant-parasitic nemodes that are involved in host-parasite interaction are under strong selective pressure through constant adaptation of the plant or breeding. Thereby variants of these genes evolve fast, or pseudogenes are generated by duplication to increase genetic flexibility. To study the epidemiology of nematode populations we aim to develop molecular techniques to differentiate such populations based on variation of their pathogenicity related genes.
