QualiS: Development of a Quality Management System for Wood Chip Production. Subproject 4: Basics, practical tests and optimization of quality assurance measurement and control parameters
Project
Project code: 22005815
Contract period: 01.06.2015
- 30.11.2016
Budget: 77,995 Euro
Purpose of research: Applied research
There has been a tightening recently for emission protection requirement in German regulation that puts heating systems using wood chips potentially under great pressure. Since quality parameters of wood chips like humidity and homogeneity of particles play an important rule for emission factors, quality assurance schemes are needed and have to be put into practice urgently. The project qualiS aims to develop and implement such schemes that can be adopted by practitioners from all sectors relevant for fuel production (forestry, logistics, and customers). These schemes can act as a basis for validation and verification and thus for customer information purposes.
